'IF YOU CONFESS WITH YOUR MOUTH, 'JESUS IS LORD' AND BELIEVE IN YOUR HEART THAT GOD RAISED HIM FROM THE DEAD, YOU WILL BE SAVED.' Romans 10:9 (salvation)
This means that we each of us actually need to TELL Him this in prayer. Personally. (Have you read the What Is Prayer? comment?- this is under Prayer in the toolbar)Pray this for yourself, your children, family and household. If even ONE of you says this confession of faith, then everyone in the house is covered. And protected. Good start. You now belong to His Kingdom. You have just said the most important thing of your life. Well done.
'The Lord, The Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to many, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin'. Exodus 34;6
This tells us about His (proven) character, love and forgiveness to those who sincerely seek it. Say sorry. Ask for His amazing Grace and He will come to you. A chance to start again sounds good doesn't it? He just waits and wants us to go to Him and know that He understands, cares and can and will help. He wants us to ask for forgiveness and experience the freedom in feeling free from the weight of sin. Unconfessed sin is barrier in communicating with God and it is vital that it is removed. God will never force you to do anything. He suggests and hopes that we will come to His ways. He waits patiently but in the meantime, if we are not repenting, we continue to life outside His perfect will for us which brings purpose, a plan and peace. Take every chance to talk with Him in prayer and respond to His voice and the thoughts He places in your mind and the emotional 'instinct' that He sends.
'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind'. Matthew 22;37
This is number one commandment. You may at first not completely feel this to the full extent (that you will.) If you stay with Him. You will. Trust me. When I started out talking to Him, telling Him all my worries, problems, fears, doubts and struggles, I very quickly realised that He cares, understands and helps every single detail in every area. You will experience this when He moves in your life and feel for yourself just how deeply He loves you. And loved you. And, will love you. He abounds - heaps and pours out His love, grace and blessings into your life. Magnificent God that He is!
'Love your neighbour as yourself'. Matthew 22;37
I used to think this meant my actual neighbours. Then, I realised this included the people of my town and country too. Now, I know this , 'neighbours' means every nation. Every nationality in every country is included in this the second most important commandment. This showed me that I have to pray for others. For instance, if I prayed for a family member and their problem, I simply go on to say' Lord, can I please widen this to include anyone anywhere on this earth with the same problem. Thank you. Amen'. I got such a high after praying like this that I realised, this pleased Him! He just needed to hear I cared for others and how easy is it to access His heavenly throne room and receive blessings. Caring Father God.
