bitter - what a way to spend your day in your mind! This made relationships with others harder too because of how I was feeling inside.
NOW, I go straight to God and say 'sorry' and make a beeline for them. Go out of my way to find them and apologise in person as I find consistently, that it works WONDERS. People readily accept a 'sorry' and it goes a long way with us all. It acknowledges that it was wrong and we then forgive because we all have that capacity to do so. Once it is said; it is done.
I have been in lots of situations where my 'sorry' and or humour brought laughter and peace back so it is something we all should practise on a day to day basis and find out for ourselves the bounty it brings.
When I forgave, I seen a big change in the person too. This was because God's spirit worked in them. Often, without me saying a word to them ,and after praying, they would come back to me to directly or indirectly apologise AND THERE WAS ALWAYS A CHANGE FOR THE BETTER IN THEM. Thank You, God.
God, Your Spirit is an intercessor and can do what we often can't. What a relief this is to have at our disposal should we choose to use it. Forgiving others, even major offences, releases Your blessings upon us and releases us from negative thoughts and emotions. How kind You are. You realise others have hurt us and have compassion for us, but, we MUST forgive and then You can be at work in us and help us and heal us. Wonderful, Father. Thank You, our God of compassion and understanding and provision. When we forgive, You then bless us with something to make up for it AND remove the trauma or memory or emotion of what others have done. You make up for the 'wilderness days' we were in through being hurt. Amen.
