Rarely do I read about the type of generosity that Dan Black has given. Four years ago, Dan was paralysed in a cycling accident. Since then, he has been raising money for pioneering stem cell treatment that could give him back his mobility again. He read though about a five year old boy called, Brecon, born with a rare form of cerebral palsy who had to walk using a walking frame. And Dan decided to give this lad a chance of walking and has handed over the entire £20,000 he raised for himself giving Brecon a chance to walk. He wanted to give him the hope of walking again. Why did he do it? Because he said it would him very happy to see the difference it would make to Brecon's life. Daniel's mum is so proud of her son for giving this boy a chance in life - to get out and play with friends in the sunshine. Dan, you are your mother's joy and mi.
Dan, I am also tremendously proud of you. This kind of giving is biblical and at it was your hope to have a chance to walk again, extra-ordinary. It was also your hope that this grand gesture would encourage more people to give. It is mine too. You gave EVERYTHING and the Lord will bless you indeed. You have suffered a stroke too and you will be healed and honoured in your eternity for what you have done.
Father, I call Dan blessed among men for what he has done. We can and should follow his example. What a beautiful mind he has and I praise him and place him into Your path of blessings. Lord, heal Dan and Brecon please as examples of Your power. Amen.
The Lord works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed. He redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion
